“if I was stranded on desert island and could only take one coffee” it would be the Yemen Mokha Ismaili.
Small sundried beans (see picture #2 above) but very well hand sorted and they produce a lot of chaff during roasting. If you have a perforated drum roaster you will lose a few beans and maybe get a few stuck in holes but the results are well worth the experience of Yemen coffee.
In the cup you will get a viscous syrup of fat sultanas and spice and an amazing lingering flavour that will have you wearing a trail back to the machine for more.
One of the worlds very best coffees, stunning in the cup and a bargain at $39/kg.
